Shelley Wray

Mrs. Shelley Wray, who has been an entrepreneur since 1983, is a graduate of UNCP with a BS in Business Management and Accounting.  She learned her strong work ethics from her parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts growing up on a tobacco farm in Halifax County, VA. She worked on the farm, worked as a receptionist for a car dealership, a payroll Clerk & a switchboard operator for a textile plant, a bookkeeper for a turf farm, a computer salesperson and a Real Estate agent who actively listed and sold properties in Fayetteville for 8 years in the 80's. She was a Property Manager for a large Commercial Real Estate firm where she managed apartments, duplexes and Homeowner Associations.

She taught Business classes at a community college and was an Estimator for a paving company. She has owned and managed a computer sales company and a coffee shop. Currently Mrs. Wray owns and operates Willow Trace, a manufactured housing community in Hoke County and Wray Mini Storage & UHaul in Harnett County.

She is a licensed Notary Public and Real Estate Broker and Property Manager. When asked why such wide variety of fields to work in, Shelley laughs and says "I've always been a jack of all trades & master of none! But I have also loved whatever I have done and wherever I have been. And I am a survivor and I was a single parent quite a few years, so I did what I had to. When given the lemons in life, "I chose to make lemonade"! Mrs. Wray is happily married, has two daughters, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She and her husband of 19 years presently reside in Hoke County. She currently sings in her church choir and also sings with the Stars & Stripes singers.

Shelley has a passion for photography and has some of her visual art on display in the Salon.  She enjoys traveling and has been to many places including all of the lower 48 states, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Holland, France, Israel, The Sinai, Egypt and Brazil. When asked how she feels about all of her accomplishments she replies "I give God all the praise for my many opportunities in life and I am very grateful"!
